Machine Operator

Description:

Responsible for operation of La Roche and Margasa machines and associated equipment affect

the timeliness and quality production of finished material. This is acomplished by setting the

machine feed rate and adjusting the machine operating parameters to the most common

optimum settings for each grade. The operator should be skilled at routine servicing

procedures for box discharge systems and machines.

General responsibilities:

Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor

Recommend safety improvements

Recommend production improvements

Comply with all safety and management programs

Be an active participant in work team development

Keep workplace clean and orderly

Provide On-The-Job training as assigned by supervisor for other employees

Job Risks:

Pinching, compression, tripping, eyes, electricity, cuts and abrasion, and fire

Safety equipment required:

Gloves, safety glasses, ear plugs, and dust mask (optional)

General requirements:

Capable of performing tasks including but not limited to working at heights and working in

confined spaces. Able to read, write and convey ideas. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds

with adequate body flexibility

Quality:

Control the production of finished material to quality expectations. Report any abnormal

quality issues to Plant Manager

Cleaning:

Specifically but not limited to- From front of boxes forward and throughout machine room,

including fans, diverters, La Roche cabinet air conditioner filters, associated aisles, walls

overhead structures and ductwork.

Training:

Fully understand and demonstrate competence in tasks as described in the Job Task Analysis documents.
